Meal after meal and day after day cheap recipes can become a real chore.  Many people get into a menu rut, rotating between the same recipes endlessly.  Families often find, when examining their food selection, that they constantly eat the same meals while ignoring some old favorites.  Random meal selection results in that situation.  Because people have so much to do they often ignore the healthy eating.

Prior planning is important when designing a menu and recipes to cook from it.  When a menu is planned in advance the selection becomes more diverse.  Sure the food is important, but so is the atmosphere around the meal.  Everyone can enjoy the same basic food if it’s made into a variety of different meals.

Try ground beef.  Add some flour, vegetables such as onions, tomatoes and lettuce.  That’s a hamburger, right?  That’s a taco too.  While very different in the eyes and taste buds of most people, hamburgers and tacos share many of the same basic ingredients.  A single food can result in a lot of different recipes.  Now for another one.  We’ll consider chicken with potatoes.  Fried chicken and French fries aren’t too healthy.  But roasted chicken and potatoes are.  More with the same potato and chicken.  Try chicken salad with potato chips for lunch.  Chicken pot pie is good too.  Chicken Teriyaki comes with rice, a starch just like the potatoes.  There is your many recipes from the same basic food elements.

Multiple meats can be fun too.  Delicious kebabs come from chicken and steak along with some vegetables.  Steak and lobster can be very elegant for a parents only dinner date, or pretty basic to include the kids too at a family meal.  Fish and chips make a good appetizer for a fried turkey, all made in the same deep fryer.

Where can more ideas be found?  Cooking shows are all over the television.  The shows have lots of cooking ideas, and even associated web sites where more cheap recipes can be found.  Try searching for dinner ideas on Yahoo or Google.  You’ll never have time to read all the resulting information.  There are more cheap recipes out there than the average person can ever eat in an entire lifetime.
